For International Customers
Get Your U.S. Documents Apostilled While Living Abroad
If you currently live outside the United States but have documents that need to be used in another country, managing the apostille process from overseas can be difficult.
Notary of Lewis Center provides a convenient mail-in apostille coordination service. We can help identify whether your document appears to require state or federal processing, whether notarization may be needed, and how the completed documents can be returned internationally
A
The document is with you
You're holding the original abroad — an Ohio birth certificate, a university diploma, a corporate record. You courier it to us, we run it through the correct authority, and it ships back to you. The most common route, and the fastest.
B
It's still in the United States
A relative, an employer, or a filing cabinet in another state has it. We can receive it directly from whoever holds it, so it never crosses a border twice. You never touch it
C
It doesn't exist yet
All you have is a photocopy, or nothing at all. An apostille attaches to a certified copy issued by the office holding the record. We identify that office and tell you exactly what to order.
Documents we apostille for customers abroad
If yours isn't listed, it's still worth asking. Most U.S.-issued or U.S.-notarized records can be apostilled with the right original and the correct submission.

A note on photocopies: the most common reason an international file stalls is that the customer sends the copy they've kept for years rather than a certified copy from the issuing office. A scan, a photocopy, a laminated keepsake, and a printed PDF are all the same thing to the reviewing authority — none of them can be apostilled. If what you have wasn't issued to you by a government office or registrar bearing an original seal, tell us before you ship anything.
